MID SUMMER TWILIGHT RIDE, PLEASURE RIDE AND ENDURANCE CLINIC

MID SUMMER TWILIGHT RIDE – SATURDAY, AUGUST 1st   6-8 pm

A midsummer twilight ride in Vermont is more than a trail excursion—it is an immersion in Vermont’s natural beauty, where horse and rider become part of an evening landscape filled with serenity, timeless charm, and the magic of a New England summer night. A twilight ride through the countryside of Vermont becomes even more memorable when shared with friends this August. Along the way, you may come across a word scramble challenge, celebrating GMHA’s remarkable milestone—100 years of Equestrian history, tradition, and community.

PLEASURE RIDE OR ENDURANCE CLINIC –  SUNDAY AUGUST 2nd

Join us for a Pleasure Ride on Sunday August 2nd through the open fields bordered by classic stone walls and weathered barns that speak to Vermont’s agricultural heritage.

OR choose to join us for a unique learning opportunity and sign up for the Endurance Clinic as we celebrate 100 Years of equestrian activities at the Green Mountain Horse Association. Whether you’re new to the sport of Endurance Riding, this educational clinic will introduce you to the fundamentals of endurance riding from the ground up. Learn about horse and rider preparation, metabolic conditioning, veterinary checks, and the skills needed for a successful endurance ride. To finish is to win!

Participants will also discover the rich history and enduring legacy of GMHA’s iconic 100-Mile Ride—a century-old tradition that has challenged and inspired generations of equestrians. Distance Days features the 90thThree-Day-100 mile ride this year.

Horse Health Requirements

GMHA requires a negative Coggins and proof of current rabies within one year of event dates.  Rabies titers are accepted within one year of event dates and must accompany a note from your veterinarian explaining the reason why the vaccine could not be administered. In addition, vaccinations for influenza and rhinopneumonitis (EHV-1 & EHV-4) within six months of event dates are REQUIRED for each horse that comes on the property.  These health documents must be submitted to event management prior to unloading.

Please note that the State of Vermont requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days or Exhibition Permit from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture’s Animal Health office for any horses entering the state. GMHA does not require these documents with entry, but the VT Agency of Agriculture may enforce these regulations at any time.
