Event Details

NOTICE:  This event event is full and a waitlist has been created. However there is another pleasure ride in October on the 12th & 13th.

ENTRIES CLOSE:  September 12, 2024 (Sooner if the ride fills.  A wait list will be started in the event this happens).

This year’s Fall Foliage Rides will feature up to 4 full days of pleasure riding! The fun begins on Thursday departing from an offsite location (entries and parking are limited – please plan accordingly) and then followed with three days of pleasure riding through Sunday from the GMHA grounds.

Fall is the best time of year for trail riding in Vermont, come enjoy it with your horses and friends on the beautiful trails GMHA has to offer.

Each day begins with a light breakfast fare and ride briefing. The trail is then open for riders to head out on either a short loop or long loop option; depending on weather conditions, lunch may be served at a scenic spot along the way, or back at GMHA.

There are single-day, No Frills (meaning no meals included), and all-inclusive options that include stabling.

  • Pre-Registration is required. We will not be accepting day of registration. NO ENTRIES AFTER THE CLOSING DATE, no exceptions.
  • GMHA reserves the right to cap entries in order preserve the trails and respect our landowner’s properties that they graciously allow us to use for our trail events.

Horse Health Requirements

GMHA requires a negative Coggins and proof of rabies vaccination within 12 months for each horse that comes on the property.  Rabies titers are accepted within one year of event date and must accompany a note from your veterinarian explaining the reason why the vaccine could not be administered.

Please note that the State of Vermont requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days or Exhibition Permit from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture’s Animal Health office for any horses entering the state. GMHA does not require these documents with entry, but the VT Agency of Agriculture may enforce these regulations at any time.
