August CTR & Drive

Saturday, Aug 2nd & Sunday, Aug 3rd

The weekend’s offerigs – 2 day 50-mile Saturday & Sunday, two- single 25-Mile CTR&D & a 15-Mile CDR&D, a 10-mile CDR&D or a 20-mile CDR on Sunday. Rides are ECTRA sanctioned. A fun & competitive trail ride (and drive) over a marked course of dirt roads and trails.

Starter Distance Ride (clinic) – Saturday, Aug 2nd

If you are new to competitive trail or endurance riding, this is a great introduction with an educational component to the sport in a relaxed and friendly environment. GMHA’s starter rides follow ECTRA guidlelines for competitive trail rides. There will be both mounted and unmoutned instruction offered. You may choose, 5 or 10 mile/drive distances.

Member only, no frills Pleasure Ride Sunday August 3rd

For current GMHA members. This ride is a no “frills ride” there are no meals associated with this portion of the weekend rides. A day stall is available following GMHA’s rules of leaving the stall stripped.

You must pre-register for all rides. No day of entries.

GMHA has bagged ice available for sale on grounds. 

Please note, depending on the ride you choose, your entry fee may include overnight stabling, a day-stall and or  meals, please read carefully when filling out your entry form. Shavings and hay are available but must be pre-ordered.

This ride is registered with New England Horse and Trail.

Horse Health Requirements

GMHA requires a negative Coggins and proof of rabies vaccination within 12 months for each horse that comes on the property.  Rabies titers are accepted within one year of event date and must accompany a note from your veterinarian explaining the reason why the vaccine could not be administered.

Please note that the State of Vermont requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days or Exhibition Permit from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture’s Animal Health office for any horses entering the state. GMHA does not require these documents with entry, but the VT Agency of Agriculture may enforce these regulations at any time.
