Kick off the 100 year celebration of GMHA with the traditional

Memorial Day Weekend Trail Ride

These Pleasure Rides on Saturday and Sunday depart from and return to the GMHA grounds. Each day will feature a marked trail through the beautiful landscape of Vermont in the spring-time through fields, woods, water crossings and of course, hills with vast views. Short and long mileage options will be offered. Saturday’s ride features a pre-ordered on trail lunch (weather permitting).

Please note, GMHA reserves the right to limit participant numbers due to trail and weather conditions.

These rides offer multiple options:

  • All inclusive rides (stabling & meals) on well marked trails with water for horses
  • Single-day rides (meals & stabling)
  • “No-frills” rides
  • Please click on details to the right >>>
  • Only “complete” entries will be processed (entry form, coggins/rabies, waivers signed, form of payment submitted)
  • Camping is available for GMHA Members at this event! Not a member?  Join today at https://gmhainc.org/membership/
  • Please refer to information on entry forms regarding our refund policy
  • Opening day for this ride is April 10th and the closing date is May 15th UNLESS the ride fills prior to this date and a wait list will be started.

Horse Health Requirements

GMHA requires a negative Coggins and proof of rabies vaccination within 12 months for each horse that comes on the property.  Rabies titers are accepted within one year of event date and must accompany a note from your veterinarian explaining the reason why the vaccine could not be administered.

Please note that the State of Vermont requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days or Exhibition Permit from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture’s Animal Health office for any horses entering the state. GMHA does not require these documents with entry, but the VT Agency of Agriculture may enforce these regulations at any time.
