Event Details

This year’s Fall Foliage Rides will feature four full days of pleasure riding! Celebrate GMHA’s 100th anniversary, on a ride through the beautiful Vermont landscape of meandering trails, wooded paths and open fields with incredible vistas from hilltops offered on these rides.

Set your holiday ride in motion with Thursday’s (9/25) “Trailer Ride Out”  departing from an offsite location (entries and parking are limited – please plan accordingly)  followed with three days of pleasure riding through Sunday (9/28) from the GMHA grounds.

Enjoy the best time of year for trail riding in Vermont with your equine partner and human friends on the beautiful marked trails GMHA has to offer.

Begin the day with  light breakfast fare and ride briefing. The trail is then open for riders to head out on either a short loop or long loop option. A pre-ordered lunch served at a scenic location along the way, or back at GMHA.

There are all inclusive (stabling and meals)single & multiple-day ride options as well as “No Frill” rides (no stabling or meals).

  • Pre-Registration is required. This ride fills quickly. GMHA does not accept “Day of entries” for this ride. No entries after the closing date, no exceptions.
  • A wait list will be put in place once the ride fills. Riders will be notified via email that they have been placed on the waitlist.
  • Only complete entries will be accepted and processed (Includes payment &  equine health requirements – proof of current noggins & rabies vaccination)
  • Entries close September 11th 2025 (unless ride is capped)
  • GMHA Pleasure Ride’s refund policy- If entry is withdrawn prior to the closing date, (Or Ride closed date), entry fee & stabling will be refunded minus a $30.00 process fee. Refunds after the closing (Or Ride close date) date will be decided by a case by case basis by the management.
  • Management reserves the right to cancel a ride should there be concerns regarding the safety of a horse or rider.

Horse Health Requirements

GMHA requires a negative Coggins and proof of rabies vaccination within 12 months for each horse that comes on the property.  Rabies titers are accepted within one year of event date and must accompany a note from your veterinarian explaining the reason why the vaccine could not be administered.

Please note that the State of Vermont requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days or Exhibition Permit from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture’s Animal Health office for any horses entering the state. GMHA does not require these documents with entry, but the VT Agency of Agriculture may enforce these regulations at any time.
